2024 HereNowYoga 200-hour Teacher Training (Birmingham, AL)

Are you looking for a yoga teacher training program that gives you the confidence to teach to a wide variety of abilities and guides you to look beyond the physical practice into deeper questions about the very nature of our own being?

The HereNowYoga Teacher Training emphasizes:

  • Pose alignment and variations

  • Balanced sequencing

  • Deep study of body-mechanics and anatomy

  • Cueing and language skills 

  • Breathing practices +  techniques for nervous system resilience

  • A study of major philosophical texts and yoga as an embodied practice 

  • Meditation/Mindfulness as a practice of self and world compassion

  • Prerequisites:  A curiosity and desire to learn about the use of yoga practices to discover your own life purpose. At least 6 months general yoga experience recommended.   Must be 21 years or older and able to commit fully to program dates and requirements.

    At HereNowYoga, we strive to make teacher training accessible to all types of people with skill and heart regardless of their economic background. We ask that you accurately access your income-making POTENTIAL (i.e. not just your monthly earnings, but assets, education, etc.) when paying for this program. If you are able to pay more for the program, your contribution supports our BIPOC/LGBTQ+ scholarships and helps grant access to others. It also helps ensure we are able to continue offering this program in years to come.

    **Required reading materials are not included in cost.  A thorough and well-developed teacher training manual WILL be included in cost.

  • Attendance at all training dates is mandatory.  Missed contact hours can be made up individually with a lead trainer at $70/hr.  In addition to the training dates, some non-contact hours will be required including observation of community classes/related events.  Details to be given about non contact hours at the start of the program

    A regular yoga/meditation practice is expected.  Each student will maintain an individual practice journal. 

    Reading and short written assignments, as well as specific mindfulness practices, will be assigned at the start of the program.  Each student will be expected to participate in group discussions and reflection during training weekends. 

    Throughout the program, individual and group assessments will be used to assure comprehension and retention of alignment and anatomical principles. The practicum will include a short demonstration of acquired teaching skills and knowledge related to asana, pranayama, and meditation.

  • Registration fee of $300 is nonrefundable.  Withdrawal from the program before April 13th will result in full refund of tuition paid in addition to registration fee. After the start of the program, April 13th, 2022, all tuition is nonrefundable.
