Kimberly Drye, Lead Teacher + Founder

Kim Drye (she/her) is a skilled and knowledgeable yoga instructor who specializes in alignment, therapeutic and restorative yoga.  Her classes are typically a themed slow flow interspersed with a breakdown of technique and alignment details.  She regularly teaches classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings under a brand she created in 2011, HereNowYoga.The HereNowYoga brand became a collaborative effort with Becca Impello in 2014. 

Kim commutes to Birmingham, AL to teach in the HereNowYoga training programs from her home in Asheville, NC. She is the owner of West Asheville Yoga Studio. Some of Kim’s most loved offerings are “Yoga on the Mountain” and “Restorative Yoga and Hot Stones” as well as her private therapeutic sessions for seniors and others looking for an adaptive practice and/or a teacher who will meet them where they are on their path of self discovery.  She loves to teach “Weighted Restorative” sessions that include the use of Ravi weighted blankets– a therapeutic technique for anxiety, ADHD and other neurodivergent tendencies.  She is a founder and continues to work closely with Asheville Wellness Tours as a yoga hiking guide, goat yoga instructor, bachelorette and wedding yoga teacher, and private instructor at Airbnbs and vacation homes.

She has trained primarily with instructors in the Iyengar tradition including Asheville, NC teachers Lillah Schwartz and Cindy Dollar, as well as nationally recognized master teachers Matthew Sanford, Roger Cole, and Aadil Palkhivala.  Her certifications include a 200 hour certification from the Asheville Yoga Center with Stephanie Keach (2008), and a 500 hour Yoga Therapy certification from Lighten Up Yoga with Lillah Schwartz (2009-2013). 

Kim believes strongly in the interconnectedness of all beings and the power that a practice of yoga asana and meditation as a deep study of the Self can have to bring forth the joy that resides in every heart.


Rebecca Impello, Lead Teacher + Founder

Becca Impello (she/her) discovered a fascination with the human body’s physical structure and ability just after college when she became a fitness instructor. This fascination led her further to the study of Physical Therapy, which she has been practicing in Birmingham since 1999. Becca simultaneously discovered yoga which fulfilled her desire to tune in to her own body and mind and revealed to her a wealth of therapeutic benefits. Her Physical Therapy practice has evolved to using more breath and body awareness, and therapeutic modifications of yoga poses. Becca is a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance, a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and has done specific training in pre-natal yoga, therapeutic yoga and studied the teachings of Gary Kraftsow, T. K. V. Desikachar, Doug Keller, Suzi Hatley, and Timothy McCall, among others. Becca currently works with clients one on one for individualized yoga instruction to address acute or chronic issues, learn modifications for safe entry into community classes, or develop a personal practice. She also teaches yoga classes, therapeutic focus yoga workshops, and anatomy trainings.

Becca is a co-founder of Practice Works, a co-working community for health and wellness professionals in Birmingham, AL.

Ashley Clarke, Assistant Teacher

Ashley Clarke (she/her) a Birmingham native, is a certified yoga teacher (E RYT 200, RYT 500), certified Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide (KMOG), and former owner of Earthkeeper Yoga in Birmingham, AL.

Ashley studied with Melissa Scott of Sacred Glow Yoga (200 hr) in Birmingham, Matthew Krepps and Stela Balaban at Circle Yoga Shala in Jasper, Arkansas (500 hr and yoga therapy), and Micah Mortali, Katie Hagel, Erin Casperson, and Mark Roule at Kripalu School for Mindful Outdoor Leadership in Stockbridge, MA. Ashley has also studied herbal medicine with Leah Larabell at High Garden’s School of Root Wisdom, Plantfolk, in Joelton, TN.

She teaches Mindful Walking & Yoga at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, HOGA at Red Mountain Park as well as beginner-friendly classes at Earthkeeper Yoga.

In partnership with the University of Alabama Birmingham, she has created content for the B Well UAB app available to the UAB community and regularly teaches gentle and chair yoga to the UAB community, Homewood City Schools, i3 Academy and VIVA Health through the Employee Assistance and Counseling Center.

Ashley serves as an Evergreen Member Champion for Red Mountain Park, and she also partners with Forge Breast Cancer Survivors and Laura Crandall Brown Foundation to support women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and gynecological cancers.

Ashley counts yoga, nature and community as her medicine and finds joy in encouraging and inspiring others.


Hannah Patterson, Lead Teacher

Hannah Patterson (she/her) Hannah is a magical teacher focused on spiritual growth through meditation and yoga practice.

You can expect guidance and gentle corrections that will help you explore the journey to find more compassion on and off your mat. Hannah’s studies are rooted in Buddhist philosophy and shares that with others with the hope we can extend love to ourselves and others, widening our circle of compassion with each practice.

Warm and welcoming, her classes focus on connection and community. Those connections extend outside of class where she is an active participant in conscious, living communities. You can often find her engaging in forms of play like acro, dancing, skating, and more.

Hannah has always had a love for teaching and started teaching cosmetology in 2017. Sharing knowledge with others has always felt like her calling. In 2017 she also visited Magnolia Grove Monastery and began to use the meditation techniques she learned there to assist in guiding students. Later, after attending yoga classes in Birmingham, she set out to become certified in yoga to spread the teachings of mindfulness and meditation.

She completed her 200 hour training with HereNowYoga in 2019, Acro Love certification in 2021, and is currently enrolled in Chromatic 300 hour yoga training to continue deepening her knowledge for her students.
